Engaging Customers

12th Rocky Mountain Utility Exchange
Sept. 19-21, 2018 in Aspen, CO

The Advisory Committee is now accepting session proposals for the 12th Rocky Mountain Utility Exchange. Preference will be given to presentations that address the theme: "United We Understand" as it relates to the challenges of engaging utility customers/consumers/members.  The theme seeks to leverage concepts presented in the recent Shelton Group EcoPulse Report available at CLICK HERE.

The event will explore case study best practices and lessons learned about programs related to energy (gas and water) efficiency, strategy, issues, and integration with renewable energy, demand response, and other customer-facing programs.

Share with us how your organization is collaborating with other utilities and/or other departments in your own utility to take a customer-oriented approach to achieve greater impacts in residential, commercial, and industrial end-use applications. Special consideration will be given to sessions that address:

  • Consumer engagement and apply unifying messages
  • Show how gas, electric, and/or water utility programs are demonstrating cooperation across departments or service territories to improve the customer experience
  • New energy efficiency and demand management technology, storage, electric vehicles
  • Demonstrate energy efficiency and renewables program collaboration to align with local/regional carbon action/green house gas goal alignment
  • Strategic on-site energy and distribution system management

The Rocky Mountain Utility Exchange is a networking and professional development forum for about 150 utility and government organization staff as well as trade allies who provide products and services to support utility customer programs. The conference will provide general and breakout session interaction as well as networking opportunities.

Proposed presentation formats may include:

  • General or breakout sessions up to 20 minutes in length with Q&A
  • Snapshot panel talks up to 5 minutes in length
  • Poster discussions during the Wednesday evening reception
  • Workshops or Roundtable Discussions 2-4 hours in length (for Friday morning)
